For each of the fourteen provinces, there are fourteen rulers, known as Arcane Lords. The Arcane Lords rule under Barbarus the Savage, who has not been seen for decades.

The world layout has been planned, with fourteen separate provinces each to be ruled by the fourteen Arcane Lords. The world is split into two, an old and an new world.

Coding for the eight character classes in Rise of the Archons has begun. The game engine is expanded from the original three classes Warrior, Wizard and Taoist, which will, to some extent, feature in the final eight.

Development of Rise of the Archons begins with outline principles of eight character classes. Behaviours for dozens of new skills are set out and regions are reconstructed. There is a lot of work to do in order to achieve a release in 2017.
